Fun in the Tub

I am glad I got to take a few pictures of my little man in the tub a couple of days ago. I do not have much time for photos these days but I am glad I get to spend my time with this little man. Oh how grown up he is!

Little Miss Hannah

Photobucket

I know you guys have been waiting for pictures forever....I have just been a little bit busy :) So I decided that I would do everything I could to get the blog updated by her official due date, and today is the day she was technically due. I guess she thought it would be better to surprise us a little early as she has already been here almost two weeks!

Hannah was born on April 6, 2012 at 5:26 am weighing in at 5lbs, 9oz. She was a little smaller than we expected, but this made for a much easier delivery for me :) She is healthy, and doing well now 12 days old. She seems to have her own time schedule as she came on the day John was supposed to take his board exam - the one day we had been praying she would choose not to come. Even though it was a crazily, insane day, it all worked out and John just took his board exam yesterday - now he can breathe a sigh of relief!

Since I did not have time to take pictures of the nursery before she arrived I have been trying to tidy it up a bit to get some pictures. I really did not expect her to make her arrival so soon - but we are sure glad to have her here with us! I will include a few pics of the nursery with all of it's handmade little goodies from Mommy. I had so much fun decorating for her! I figure this is my chance to enjoy her room all pretty and nice since I am sure when she gets older she will have her own opinion about how it should look :)

I must say she has an excess of newborn photos and headbands - and okay maybe shoes as well. There is just so much more you can do with little girls. I have yet to paint her little toes and fingers - but trust me I will get to that :) I was even gifted some special finger nail polish just for little toes! So excited!

This transition from one child to two has been easier than I thought it would be. Yes, there are times (okay lots of times) when both of my kids are screaming at the same time. Caleb is a bit of a sympathy crier and that is just something we have to get used to. I think it might be a good thing - maybe he just has an extra dose of compassion? I do miss just hanging out with my little buddy though. We are so excited to have Hannah here - and Caleb LOVES her - but sometimes I miss being able to take time to just spend with him. It has been so precious to watch Caleb and Hannah together though. He loves trying to wake her up in the morning - walking around the house yelling, "Hannah! Hannah!". He is also super fascinated with all of her tiny features - particularly the eyes (we are working on no eye poking). He also enjoys tickling her feet. I must say my favorite this is when he says, "Bless you", after she sneezes - too cute!

John is watching the kids while I do this so I better go rescue him :) If every pregnancy/delivery -minus the gallbladder scare- is as easy as this one - sign me up for more! Children are such a blessing and if God chooses to bless us with a few more we wouldn't really mind :)

P.S. I am sure there will be a few more photos to follow since I am not completely done with all of her newborn photos :)

The Kembell Family

It seems like only yesterday I was at the Kembell house taking newborn photos of their precious little girl. She is already ONE now! Wow, how time just slips right through our hands!

It was a gorgeous day today, and I really enjoyed going back to the Kembell's house for a family session. The weather was great and the lemonade was sweet! Take a look at this beautiful family. Thanks for the great time guys!

Baby Shower for Little Miss Washburn #2

Photobucket

I have been trying to get these pics up for a little while now - but I have been a little busy. John has been out of town for the last 3 and 1/2 wks so Caleb, my business, and crafting for baby/friends has given me more than enough to keep me busy!

Some of my dearest friends threw me a baby shower a couple of weeks ago and I just have to show off what a beautiful job they did. I got there a little early so I could get a few pictures and ironically after I took these I completely forgot about my camera and I did not take any more for the rest of the shower :( John would be disappointed I know. Oh well, I got some really great shots of the cute little details. I absolutely loved the theme, and I could not have asked for a better shower. Thanks guys so much! I love you guys!

P.S. Emily your house was very clean as always :)

A Day Outside

Yesterday was actually nice enough that we got to go outside. That is always such a blessing because Caleb LOVES going outside. We both cannot wait for spring to arrive!

We are hitting some milestones this week with lots of new words and phrases: computer, camera, Caleb (he can actually say his name now!), Tylenol, marshmallow, hot air balloon, "hold on", "all done" , and "her Bible" - he knows which one is Mommy's now.

He also likes to call Daddy by his first name since that is what Mom does. So funny.

Sometimes I cannot believe how much he learns in one week. We are learning our ABC's and he probably knows just over half of them with 100% consistency. We have our numbers up through 10 down as well. He recognizes all of them on paper but we get them all counting on our fingers about 75% of the time. We know all of our colors as well. Crazy. None of these things has been something I have worked on with him. He just started showing interest and I followed suite. Unbelievable how fast he has picked this stuff up. Now every time we are out and about he is quick to point out to me when he sees a number, letter, or color. So cute. He is so bright, just like his Daddy :)

One other quick thing - he loves his koala and his "roo-roo". They travel with him EVERYWHERE and he teaches them all of the things he is learning! They eat, they drink, and they even get "owies". They also wear socks.

Every time I look at him I am reminded that I need to enjoy this phase because I know it will be gone soon. It's so easy to get consumed with everything else and to miss out on these precious days. Caleb will soon have a little sister to play with...which seems nuts. It's hard to imagine life with another child - but at the same time it was hard to imagine life with Caleb and now I cannot imagine life without him. Strange how that happens. Everyday is a blessing.

P.S. We have finally picked out a name for our little jewel arriving in April - too bad we will not tell you :)

Day of Love

Photobucket

John got me some flowers before he left so I have been enjoying those- and he requested that I take a picture!

Photobucket

Today Caleb got some new wooden toys that he took pride in painting. He has been carrying them all over the house and continually tells me that he painted them - so proud. He had a messy time making cookies and eating his suckers today as well. He got a little carried away with the sprinkles as you will see. I think at one point he was looking at the bottle of sprinkles so intently I thought he might be checking it for MSG :) We had such a great time today just chilling in the house. To top the night off we ordered a pizza - you know me trying to eat healthy :)
